Karna
(STORY BY MAHABARATA) : During the battle of Mahabharata, Karna's chariot got broken and he was wounded badly. He had to leave the battle-field. Krishna, the king of Dwarika told Arjun about Karna;s charity. nobility and kindness.
Arjun was very eager to know about it.
Krishna and Arjun disguised themselves as Brahmins had reached the place where Karna was lying. They begged alms. Karna told them that they came at a wrong time because he was lying on death bed.
Krishna and Arjun (Brahmins) turned to go back. Suddenly, Karna remembered his tooth of gold. He told them that he will give them alms. He pointed to the stone lying nearby and requsted them to hand it over to him. But, they refused to do so.
Karna himself took the stone and broke his gold tooth with it. He then asked them to have the tooth. But, they refused saying that it was not pure because it was sunk in blood.
Karna took his bow and arrow and shot it into the earth. A stream of pure water came out. He washed the tooth and handed it over to them.
They told him who they were. Arjun was astonished with his charity.nobility and kindness.
